Can you search for names on Tinder?
To make it short: no.
There is no "official" search feature in the Tinder app that allows you to search for a specific person's name, location, cell phone number, and other personal information that you don't match.
In the Tinder search settings, it is only possible to specify the radius (distance), age, and gender as rough criteria for finding a partner:
You then have to swipe through the profiles to find suitable people on Tinder who meet these search criteria.
Search by name: Only in the list of your matches!
You can search for names on Tinder, but only within the contact list of people with whom you already have a match.
To do this, tap on the speech bubble icon below to get to the menu with your matches and chat messages.
At the top of the search bar, go to "Browse Matches" and type in the name of the woman in question.
The search results then appear below, filtered out of your matches.
Of course, that shouldn't help you in your case.

How to find out if someone has a Tinder profile
Not all of the methods below are free, as some require signing up on the dating app. But you have a good chance of discovering certain people on Tinder if you follow my instructions.
The more precise information you have regarding age and whereabouts, the greater the chances of success. So, let's get started!

The easiest way is to search for the person's name on Tinder using a regular browser on a mobile or desktop computer.

You can also use the Cheaterbuster service to find a Tinder profile of someone.
At least, in theory, the trick with Cheaterbuster (formerly "Swipebuster") works quite comfortably:
- Open the Internet browser on your mobile phone or desktop PC and go to the following page: https://www.cheaterbuster.net/.
- In the form, you enter the first name, age, gender, and location of the person you want to find on Tinder.
- Then you enter your e-mail address and a password to create an account with Cheaterbuster (if you are not already a member).
- If you then click on the button below for "View search results", you will receive the corresponding profiles by email.
However, I would not put my hand on the fire that this method works. I haven't tested it because this online service, as I said, requires you to register with Cheaterbuster and, above all, is subject to a fee.
All the fun should cost at least $9.99.
Is it worth the money only to find people on Tinder?
Of course, whether you dare to try depends on how important the person you want to find on Tinder is to you.
Before you spend the money on Cheaterbuster, you could just as invest $15 in a "Tinder Plus" subscription with a 1-month term and start a search in the dating app using the "passport" function (see below!).
Firstly, this is the safest way to find someone on Tinder.
Second, the subscription provides you with more features that you can use for online dating.
3. Swipe for the person with the appropriate search settings
Okay, now we come to the most reliable method of how you can search for Tinder profiles more specifically. Finding specific people on the dating app takes just a few steps:
Download the app on your phone and sign up with a Tinder account if you're not already a member.
Go to Settings by tapping on the gear icon:
Here you now specify the distance, gender, and age of the person you want to locate:
Then you swipe through the suggested profiles until you find the woman with her name and profile picture.

Of course, the more precise your search criteria are, the faster you will find what you are looking for when swiping.
It is better to know the person's exact age and enters it in the search settings. If this is not the case, try to estimate the age and give as small an age range as possible of about +/- 2 years, for example, 28 to 32.
You should also know the person's location precisely to specify a radius.
If you are not sure about the number of kilometers, you can use Google Maps to find out the distance between you:
- Open Google Maps on the desktop computer.
- Right-click on the woman's place of residence/whereabouts on the map.
- A pop-up menu opens, here you click on "Measure distance".
- Next, left-click on your current location on the map. Now you will see the beeline with the number of kilometers.
- If the markings are not yet precise enough, you can click on the two endpoints with the left mouse button and move them as required (keep the mouse button pressed).

You then transfer the number of kilometers displayed in Google Maps to the Tinder search settings. It's best to add another 3 to 5 kilometers at the top so as not to set the radius too tightly.

Is the person whose Tinder profile you want to find your partner or ex-girlfriend who may be cheating?
Then, of course, you may not want to be found, so you should take appropriate precautions in the application settings:
There are three ways to remain anonymous as an unfaithful partner:
- Users of the flirt app can put the cell phone numbers of certain people on a "blacklist" and thus block them in Tinder, similar to WhatsApp. So if the woman has put your cell phone number on the block list, you can no longer see her when you swipe if you have registered with this number on Tinder.
